DESCRIPTION:

Please note that you cannot completely fill both bottom and top tanks at the same time.

This filter is not to be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe, if you require a system that needs to disinfect water, please contact us first.

 

 INSTALLATION:

Please thoroughly wash and rinse your hands or use new clean chemical free gloves

1.   Unpack the system from the package

        Please note:  Do not over tighten any components when assembling

        Place large clear tank on large white base, also install the tap.

   2.  Rinse the 5 stage multi-media cartridge and the white flat mineral pad in clean water then let them soak for

        15 minutes, rinse again in clean water.  Soak again for 15 minutes then give a final rinse under running water to

        remove any fine particles and to activate the carbon filters.

   3.  Place the white flat mineral pad on the base in the centre of the large clear bottom tank.

   4.  Screw the 5 stage multi-media cartridge into the underside of the middle white joiner.  Place the middle white joiner

        with the 5 stage multi-media cartridge suspended in large bottom clear tank.

   5.  Rinse the ceramic dome filter in running water and use a new non- abrasive kitchen scrubber to lightly scrub the

        surface of the filter. Run water from the tap directly down through the stem of the filter to flush out any internal dust

        and air particles.

   6.  Soak the ceramic in water (overnight is best) then give it a final rinse off and install into the top housing.

   7.  Assemble the system then fill the top tank with water and allow it to filter through.

  

CAUTION: Do not store the unit near natural sunlight (i.e. keep away from a kitchen window), otherwise, algae can start to grow inside the lower tank! (Remember: Carbon removes Chlorine, which is a disinfecting agent).  Do not use or drink microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection.  Wash tanks regularly and air dry only.

MAINTENANCE:

Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the various parts

1. Take the ceramic filter, multi- layer cartridge and white flat mineral pad, place them in a clean bucket of water and soak for at least 30 minutes.  Rinse them thoroughly.

2. Wash the lower tank and attach the tap, using the washers provided, place one washer on the inside of the tank and one washer on the outside of the tank.

3. Take the multi- layer cartridge and screw into its seating/holder carefully on the joining ring, do not overtighten.

4. Place the assembled joining ring on top of the lower tank.

5. Take the upper tank and insert the ceramic filter, the washer must be on the inside again, do not overtighten.

6. Place the top tank together with the appropriate fittings onto the joining ring.

7. Check all parts fitness and alignment.

8. Fill with water and put the top cover in place.

IMPORTANT

1. Never use hot water.

2. Always discard the first container of water after initial purification.

3. Never use anything abrasive on the plastic parts, a sponge for washing is best.

4. The ceramic filter can be cleaned using water and new non-abrasive kitchen scrubber.

5. The ceramic filter can be cleaned multiple times before replacing.

6. The multi cartridge will service for approximately 5000 litres dependant on the quality of the water input.  We recommend replacement of this element every 6 months.

7. Never overfill the upper tank.  If the lower tank is half full, you can completely fill the upper tank.  If the amount of water passes half of the lower tank, you must not fill up the upper tank, or leakage may happen through the joining ring.

8. If the unit appears to leak, please check tap for tightness, ensure the top tank has not been overfilled.

Never put the unit under sunshine, as keeping the unit away from sunshine will prevent chlorella growing on the unit.
